History of the guest house

In 1987, we fell in love with this house at the end of a road on the edge of the woods. We purchased the property and renovated it in stages.

At the end of the garden we had an old barn that we initially used as our workshop and shed.

We decided to start renovating the barn in 2007 and did most of the work ourselves. We welcomed our first guests in August 2009.

Our goal was to preserve the rural character of the building by using traditional materials for the renovation:  old-style cement and rendering, sandstone and bricks, lime, old doors, old Brabant-style paving, etc.

The guest house is located on the edge of the woods where deer, pheasants, squirrels and foxes often cross the path of anyone who goes into the woods called Le Bois du Chapitre.
